Craig Daily Press

The Craig Daily Press is located in Craig, Colo., which is 40 miles west of Steamboat Springs. The newspaper has roots back into the late 1800s and distributes 3,200 copies Monday through Friday and 9,200 copies Saturday in Craig and throughout Moffat and Rio Blanco County. The Craig Daily Press converted from a weekly publication to a daily paper Monday, Feb. 11, 1963. Craig is the seat of one of the largest geographic counties in Colorado which combines a rich tradition of the Old West with a new vision of economic growth. The area is home to a population that has demonstrated steady growth during the past decade with a growing retail base and some of the most productive coal mines in the world.

In addition, it is also known as the big game capital of Colorado as hunters from throughout the United States travel to Moffat County in the fall to hunt elk, deer and antelope. The owners of the company are Dolph C. Simons III, Dan C. Simons, Pamela Ann Simons, Linda Simons and Ralph D. Gage Jr. Dolph C. Simons III is the President of the World Companys Newspapers division, Dan C. Simons is President of the World Companys Electronics division. Ralph Gage is the Chief Operating Officer of The World Company. All reside in Lawrence. Thomas L. Hornbaker, also of Lawrence, is the company controller. Suzanne Schlicht of Steamboat Springs, Colo., is regional manager for WorldWest Limited Liability Company.
